SERVICE NC 2010 AT A GLANCE
What is Service North Carolina?
- Service NC is a state-wide institution to increase community service participation on each UNC campus during the month of March.
When is Service NC?
- Service NC begins at 12:00AM March 1st, 2010 and ends at 11:59PM March 31st, 2010.
Who participates in Service NC?
- Every student of each of the 17 constituent campuses is welcomed to join us in our efforts to make Service North Carolina a success. Each school is encouraged to hold service events throughout the entire month of March.
- Volunteering is certainly not limited to students. We hope that students will invite their professors and administrators to join us!
- Community members are also encouraged to participate!
How can my school participate in Service NC?
- Any service event held on campus or in the community surrounding your school between March 1st and March 31st may be counted towards Service NC hours.
- These hours may be logged (see below), fostering competition between institutions.
How do I log my campus’s hours?
- Last year, the submission system was based on scanning a form listing school full-time equivalent student population and hours completed each week. This year, we are moving the hour submission completely online, with website renovations allowing each organization to submit hours pending the electronic approval of each campus’s coordinator. Please click the left hand campus links to access this function.
