Academic & Student Affairs

About

The Academic and Students Affairs division acts as the system-wide student expert on academic and student issues such as financial aid, campus safety, textbooks, the Higher Education Act, and student codes of conduct. The division is an advocate on behalf of the students for the university to maintain accessibility and affordability to a quality higher education for current and future generations.

Plans

To research each institution’s catalogs and academic affairs documents regarding their respective academic advising policies. Tenured professors are already academic advisors for those students that have declared majors. Investigate peer to peer advising alternatives.
To work in a collaborative effort to insure the success of the Safety Symposium and risk management online course

To research and promote textbooks rental programs, one-time textbook adoptions (retaining older editions), digital textbooks, and tax free textbook initiatives.
